The Probation Journal was established by the National Association of Probation Officers and was first published in 1929. The first issue of the journal included contributions on the pay and conditions of probation officers and the ‘technique of probation’. In the intervening years the Probation Journal has gone from strength to strength, and it is now read widely by practitioners, academics, and policy makers across the globe. The contribution of practitioners remains one of the key strengths of the journal, and we are keen to encourage continued practitioner engagement through publication in the journal. This AGM Fringe Event will provide an overview of the aims and ethos of the journal, the different publication formats, and how you can contribute. The event will be delivered by Pete Marston (Editorial Board Member and Senior Probation Officer) and Nicola Carr (Journal Editor and former Probation Officer).
